Nuestros Proyectos
Restoration and Beautification Projects
We honor past community leaders and give back to La Madre Tierra through our MLK Jr. and Cesar Chavez Day of Service. Our goals is to make a positive impact on local parks and create a space for residents to come together and strengthen communities. We work closely with county officials, nonprfits and local stakeholders. Join us!
Vamos a la Playa
Vamos a La Playa (Let's go to the Beach) our seasonal coastal access equity program that directly addresses barriers that communities of color experience in accessing natural spaces. We take families for a fun day at the beach to remember. For some of our community families, it is their first time enjoying a beach day.
Telenovelas in the Park
Telenovelas in the Park is a grassroots theater troupe that uses the traditional telenovela (soap opera) models to both educate and entertain families about ways to care and heal La Madre Tierra. This includes water conservation, the drought, impact of plastic pollution, etc. It is a multigenerations, cultural relevant platforms that initates conservations with the audience.
Community Leadership Circle
The Community Leadership Circle surfaced in the summer of 2017 when community members expressed an eagerness to become leaders in their communities but did not know where to start. The Community Leadership Circle is a series of lessons, platicas, and gatherings to discuss the many facets of leadership. If you have an idea about a possible platica. Please let us know.
