Between 2015 and 2016 The Los Angeles County conducted a Comprehensive Parks and Recreation Needs Assessment in order to understand the need for parks and recreation resources within communities, while estimating the potential cost of meeting those needs.

Union of Concerned Scientists

In 2015 Mujeres de la Tierra and the Union of Concerned Scientists partnered to launch a six month national pilot program that would “match” local scientists with surrounding neighborhoods in order to research, better understand, and answer questions regarding the risks community members face from surrounding oil and gas developments near their homes.

MLK Tree Grove

For over 6 years, Mujeres has been involved in the annual Martin Luther King Day of Service in honor of Dr. King’s birthday. Mujeres de la Tierra led the effort to create a tree grove as a tribute for Dr. King within Kenneth Hahn Park and Recreation Area.
