Laboratorio de Riesgo / Risk Lab is a one-day event for the community to get together and learn about seismic risk. The Risk Lab consists of a series of talks, experts panels and a hands-on technological workshop. This is an opportunity to make our community more resilient and more prepared.
California is a land of earthquakes and we need to learn how to live with them. How can we protect our families, our businesses, our barrios? Together we can reduce risk, by talking to experts,sharing relevant information, and learning about seismic risk.
Who will participate:

- Jean-Paul Ampuero, Ph.D., Caltech Seismology Professor.
- Marissa Aho, Chief Resilience Office at the Government of the City of Los Angeles.
- Emiliano Rodriguez Nuesch, director of Pacífico, creators of the ‘Risk Lab’ methodology, implemented in many countries in Latin America.

2:00 Hands-on workshop to learn about earthquakes (Must Pre-register, Limited space available)
Topics will include: what an earthquake is and what an earthquake does. Early warning systems and Caltech's Community Seismic Network. Use of cell phone as a prevention tool.
