About Us

taking root in the community

                                            Our Mission Statement

To support women and families interested in becoming active participants and decision makers in environmental issues impacting their neighborhoods in the Southern California area

To create a network of trained community leaders to lead, speak and act with a collective and influential voice

Our Goals are to:

  • Organize women and families in, traditionally, excluded  areas into advocacy networks,

  • Build healthier and sustainable communities through public engagement and individual participation,

  • Identify holistic and practical approaches to solving local environmental issues by balancing efforts to clean environment with the daily needs of family survival and

  • Develop community engagement models to be duplicated in other neighborhoods and communities.

Our Current Projects:

Northeast Los Angeles Open Space Project

Baldwin Hills Oil Field

Gregg Industries

Promoting Reusable Bags

Mariposa Gibson Park

Mujeres de la Tierra believes in the power of one and that community action starts with individual participation.

If you have an issue or problem in your neighborhood consider beginning a chapter or affiliate in your area today.

We firmly believe that the families and residents of the neighborhood should take ownership of their issues and determine what's best for them and their families.
